Learning how to get organized is never fun but it's ALWAYS beneficial to you! As a business professional, our goals should be to constantly be creative, meeting new people, and earning new business contacts and clients!
Tip 1: Why Do You Have That JUNK?
Yea yea yea, I know, they told you to keep it all you may need it one day! YOU DON'T NEED TO KEEP IT ALL! Being a pack-rat is the WORST business decision that one could ever possibly make!
Take the time to go through all your paperwork and get rid of ANYTHING that you don't need to conduct business! I promise, you will not miss that piece of paper that you haven't looked at in the last 10 years that you are just so impressed with that has NO pertinent information on it! If it was pertinent, you would've looked at it in the last month!
Also, invest in some file folders and always keep all your financial records separate from your client/customer contacts! Take the time to buy a small safe for your very important financial and banking information and take it out ONLY when it is NECESSARY!
Finally, any information that you can copy into PDF format, organize and put into a folder on your computer or a "thumb" drive...DO IT! If you're a small business, this will certainly help you get rid of some paperwork and give you more room for using your space more productively!
